AHHHHHHH…..Summer

Ahhhhh….Summer is almost here! If you’re like our family you have begun the process of scheduling summer. Church camp forms are out, VBS is preparing to unload, vacations to be planned and scheduled, baseball sign-ups, the list goes on and on and on and on! As you are preparing for your Summer, I would like you to take a moment with your family before it is ALL planned out to talk about “where” Christ is going to be in all of it.
When preparing your schedule for vacation, how about thinking of a way to make it missional? Research your location and identify mission’s opportunities. Use the travel time to memorize scripture. Involve all family members in beginning a ‘vacation with a purpose fund’ by setting aside money just for ministry opportunities, like feeding a homeless person, during your vacation.
As you talk with your family, brainstorm ways you can be Christ-like during summer baseball games. Maybe it’s writing a favorite scripture on your arm, glove, or ball.
Invite a family to church this summer and then have them over for a BBQ!
Let’s all get involved. I am praying for you and your family to have eyes that see an opportunity during this summer to serve others and to show Christ’s love.
