Campus Ministry Wives Find Encouragement During Retreat
August 2011
For the first time in more than 30 years of ministry, the wives of full- time collegiate ministers in Kansas and Nebraska had a special two-day retreat planned for them.
Fourteen wives left their ministry and family responsibilities at home and traveled to Topeka June 17-18 to be encouraged and pampered.
Several of those that have served in this capacity for a longer time shared with those with less experience.
One of the women shared, “The time was really used by God to encourage me in giving my life away to college students. I was so blessed by other people’s stories, their vulnerability in sharing struggles, hearing how the Lord has continued to pursue even when we still struggle with ourselves. It was very encouraging!”
The meeting was sponsored by Kansas-Nebraska Friends of Collegiate Ministry and hosted by Mary Beth Huebner, Lezlie Lindsay and Priscilla Sapp.
Friends of Collegiate Ministry is comprised of alumni of KS-NE collegiate ministries. Many of these alumni do not live in Nebraska or Kansas.
