Church Library Ministry Conference

September 2008

Have you ever wondered about the potential of your church library ministry?  Did you know that churches are currently using their libraries as evangelistic tools for both church members and other members of the community?  Would you like to see your church make a positive impact on preschoolers and children through the materials they read and view?  These and other subjects have been “flagged” as topics of discussion for this year’s “Read, White, and Blue” library conference.  Cast your vote to create or improve your church library at this year’s conference!

Conference leaders include Eva Nell Hunter, director of church library ministry, Central Baptist Church, Decatur, AL; Bill Jones, developer of Book Systems’ suite of library automation products; and Hope Ferguson, state library ministry consultant for the Louisiana convention.

A variety of topics will be offered, including Library Clubs, Promotion Concepts, Media Preparation, Classificiation, Concourse Basic (and Advanced), Concourse and Beyond and more.

Other conference features include:

  • LifeWay Christian Store
  • Book-Link Collection Table
  • Displays
  • Book Swap

The registration fee is $40 per person, and includes dormitory style housing at Webster Conference Center and meals while at the conference.

Registration begins at 10:15 a.m., Friday, September 26 in the chapel at WCC.  The LifeWay Christian Store, display area, and book swap/Book-Link tables will also be open.  Registration deadline: September 16.  (See the KNCSB church library web page for a registration form.)
