Disaster Relief Update
August 2011
KNCSB disaster relief recently shifted its attention to Minot, N.D. Ministry is also underway to tornado victims in Reading, Kan., and Joplin, Mo.
In late June, the disaster-relief shower units from Northeast Association in Nebraska and Heart of Kansas Association were deployed to Minot, N.D., along with the Eastern Nebraska Baptist Association laundry unit.
The main KNCSB disaster-relief feeding unit was deployed to Minot in mid-July.
The Souris River that runs through Minot had begun to recede, and the KNCSB field kitchen was needed to support the efforts of victims and volunteers as they reclaimed what they could from more than 11,000 flooded homes.
Meanwhile, ministry also is underway in Reading, Kan., and Joplin, Mo., where tornados hit during the weekend of May 21.
