FCC Ruling May Force Churches To Buy New Wireless Microphones

The FCC in implementing a new ruling in June 2010 that will force many churches and other organizations to change out their wireless microphones and other wireless devices such as nursery call systems. To find out what the FCC has done go to http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones/. To see if your church’s microphones are involved go to http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones/manufacturers.html. This ruling takes effect June 12, 2010. We are not sure what penalties or warnings may be issued by the FCC if your church is found to be not in compliance. Most of the devices that are covered by this ruling are not adjustable. They must be replaced.
