First Southern Baptist Church Of Junction City Answers Call For Help
September 2008
After twenty four hours of driving, our team of two adults and six youth arrived in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to assist in the provision of meals for the Canadian Baptist Builders and the various mission teams involved in the construction project for the Scarborough Baptist Church. Two of the mornings were used to prepare meals for the volunteer workers who were spending their vacation time helping to build the addition to Scarborough Baptist Church.
Additionally, Nathan Butler, Lucy Cadle, Rachelle Sharpe, Alicia Dozier, Megan Butler, Joshua Eckel, Alex Cynova and Liam Manville, organized back yard bible clubs during the afternoons and a variety of youth activities in the evenings for the refugee and immigrant families cared for by Scarborough Baptist Church. From August 3rd through August 8th, a Bananarama competition, Hunt for Sasquatch, bonfire and Piñata were just a few of the events that were part of this Outreach Ministry. God’s love was revealed and the Good News of Jesus Christ was shared.
On Thursday, one little girl wrapped her arms around Pastor Nate and gave him a big hug. Friday was to be the team’s last day in Saskatchewan. This little girl looked up and said, “Tomorrow, I’m going to give you two hugs,” smiled and walked away. If your church is looking for an opportunity to minister, contact Scarborough Baptist Church, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. They need teams to assist with various ministries and to help finish the addition to the church.
