Former KNCSB President Dies

March 2008

Andy Antonson, former KNCSB president and long-time Kansas pastor, died on Friday, Jan. 25.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Believers Southern Baptist Church in Wichita. Burial was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Andy came to KNCSB from Oklahoma to pastor Tyler Road Southern Baptist Church in Wichita. He was Pastor Emeritus of Believers Southern Baptist Church and most recently was serving as Interim Pastor of Celebration Southern Baptist Church.

Andy was elected president of KNCSB in 1992 and 1993. Peck Lindsay, Executive Director of KNCSB, remembers Andy as a friend and colleague in Ministry.

“He served as both the vice president and president of our convention, and in those roles we worked closely together.

Andy was never provincial in his vision for our convention, but always saw the big picture of what our cooperative work could be.

I will miss his friendship and his wise counsel.”
