KNCSB Youth Gather For InDepth Meeting

February 2008

I want to thank each of you for praying for our In.D.E.P.T.H. youth conference held Dec. 28-29 at the Topeka Performing Arts Center, Topeka, Kan.

It was a great time in the Lord. Everyone who attended learned great skills in dealing with guilt, anger, greed, and jealousy. We learned the best way to combat guilt is through confession. We were taught that forgiveness is the best defense for anger and generosity will always defeat the giant of greed in our hearts. We were also challenged to celebrate each other to defend against the giant of jealousy. Above all else we were encouraged to guard our hearts.

We had a total of 1,113 people in attendance. A total of 70 churches from across our two-state convention attended. We had 29 decisions with five professions of faith.

I wanted to thank each of you for your commitment to pray for the youth ministry in Kansas and Nebraska. Please continue to fervently pray for our youth.

On May 25, 2008, there will be a massive gathering of students from all across the United States just south of Kansas City. The event is called Paradise ‘08. (Find more information at http://paradise08.com/)

In very simple terms, it is a united time of worship to our great and awesome God. Youth will converge on this site for one reason: worship. Would you begin praying for this event?

It may seem a little early, but Super Summer is not too far off. Most of your churches have already received early registration packets in the mail. Let’s begin to pray today for Super Summer. The first week begins June 30.

Also, in the coming weeks Terry McIlvain and a few members of the KNCSB Youth Evangelism (Y.E.S.) staff will begin the process of interviewing and choosing the Collegiate Staff for Super Summer ‘08. Please be in prayer for this selection process. It is always the desire of Y.E.S. to come alongside God and choose the young men and women He has already chosen for this summer. Please pray His will and direction will be clear.

I do appreciate your prayerfulness on behalf of our student ministries in Kansas and Nebraska. Keep up the good work. I pray God’s richest blessings upon you all.
