Lifeway Introduces New Icons To Help You Find Materials

July 2008

Connect, Grow, Serve, Go
What does this mean?  Resources from LifeWay are now categorized in a way to help you find what you need in each of these four categories for developing disciples in your church.  Look for the icons in LifeWay curriculum and catalogs to identify each of the areas.

Connect
This is how we connect to God and other people.  It involves worship, prayer, fellowship, and other relational things.
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-39, NIV).

Grow
This is how we grow in our faith.  It includes individual and group Bible study, teaching events, and other resources that help Christians mature and strengthen their faith.
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.  This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” (John 15:7-8, NIV).

Serve
This is using our time, talents, and gifts to help other people.
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4:11-12, NIV).

Go
This is going outside the four walls of our church buildings to share the love of God with others.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28-19-20, NIV).
