Men Will Band Together In Christ At Men’s Retreat

September 2010

The fifth annual KNCSB Men’s Retreat, “Band of Brothers,” will be held Oct. 15-16 at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan. It will start at 6 p.m. Friday with dinner and end Saturday at 5 p.m. following a worship-and-praise service.

Bob Mills, KNCSB executive director, will be the keynote speaker. He will expand on this year’s theme, “Band of Brothers.”

In addition to the Friday evening service, there will be two additional worship-and-praise services, a time of group prayer and 22 breakout sessions.

John Lucas, KNCSB Baptist Men’s Ministry Director, expects some 200 men to attend this year. Evaluations and feedback from previous years have clearly indicated that men earnestly appreciate and look forward to this event each year.

This year’s event builds on previous years which have helped men to learn their significance as Christian men and how God, through Christ, molds men into what they were meant to become in the Kingdom of God. It will also show that when men band together, they can accomplish great things in their lives, homes, churches and communities.

Among the topics of breakout sessions will be: Crisis Counseling; Disaster Ministry; Being a Christian Man in Today’s World; Praying for and Supporting Your Pastor; Men Praying for their Church; Marriage and Communication in Marriage; The Problem of Pornography; Men’s Ministry in the Church; Islam; Evangelism Training; How Men Deal with Conflict; Men Dealing with Emotions; Men Dealing with Grief and Loss; New and Exciting Ways to Do Ministry; and Meeting the Needs of Hurting People.

An information packet was scheduled to be mailed to all KNCSB churches in July. For more information on Baptist Men’s ministry, contact John Lucas, KNCSB men’s ministry director at (800) 984-9092 ext. 817 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
