Nurses Are Needed For Camps, Mission Teams

The coming year will provide a variety of ministry opportunities for Baptist nurses in the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists. Nurses are needed for the following events:

  • June 29-July 3, 2009: Week 1 Super Summer
  • July 6-10, 2009: Week 2 Super Summer
  • July 10-12, 2009: RA Congress
  • July 13-17, 2009: Week 3 Super Summer
  • July 20-24, 2009: Week 4 Super Summer
  • July 27-31, 2009: Week 5 Super Summer
  • Aug. 3-7, 2009: Week 6 Super Summer
  • Aug. 15, 2009: Baptist Men’s Softball Tournament and Family weekend
  • Sept. 11-12, 2009 Wonderful Weekend for Women
  • Oct. 2-3, 2009: Mother Daughter and GA Retreats
  • Nov. 13-14, 2009: SHINE, a conference for teen girls

If each of our nurses would schedule themselves to help with at least one event (and recruit a friend to go with them), these needs could easily be met.

In addition, there will be two opportunities to go on a medical mission trip to Peru — May 13-26 and Aug. 4-16. Maxine Thorne and Gloria Burk participated on this trip in 2008 and plan to return with the May 2009 team. 

The Kansas-Nebraska Baptist Nursing Fellowship annual meeting will be held during Wonderful Weekend for Women Sept. 11-12 at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan. We are also considering a spring meeting and will let everyone know if that becomes a reality.
