Powers To Serve As KNCSB Deacon Ministry Consultant

George Powers, Pastor of Recreation, Young Adults and Men’s Ministry at Westside Baptist Church in Omaha, has recently been added as a part time consultant for KNCSB in Deacon Ministry.

Powers has been an ordained deacon for twenty years and a full-time minister for two and a half years. He has received specialized training in deaconministry at Ridgecrest this past summer.

He can help churches and deacon bodies in the following areas:

Deacon council organization, mission and objectives,

Recruitment, training and ordination of deacons,

Deacon’s role in the church

Relationship with the pastor

Relationship with the members

Ministries

Materials for use by deacon councils

Help in and or leading of deacon retreats
