“For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13.)
This verse uses some strong words. Don’t “power” and “desire” make a person want to go out and give all they have to the Lord?
That is what the Shine Conference is trying to do this year for teenage girls. The prayer is that girls will be able to come away from the Shine Conference and influence people wherever their foot steps down — that they can believe they can “Spark a Revolution” and change their world.
The girls will be encouraged to make wherever they are a mission field. All around them is a place to share God’s love. Which is why the girls will be doing a missions project at the retreat as well, bringing an item of clothing from their own closet to donate.
Singer Jami Smith will be leading worship for the girls this year and missionary Erica S. will be joining Shine as well. She and her husband lived in Central Asia.
Join us Nov. 14-15 at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan. Registration is still open and is due by Oct. 7. Or pay a late registration fee and get your registration in, postmarked by Oct. 14. Get ready to shake the world.
