Summer 2009 Really Was A Super Experience

September 2009

Campers at Super Summer 2009 were challenged to rebel against the culture and be positive witnesses for Christ.

The camp theme was “Rebellion,” based on Romans 12:2.

This year’s total attendance was 2,815. A total of 128 campers accepted Christ as their personal Savior. Sixty-three students indicated that God is calling them into vocational Christian service.

A strong call to repentance came from Ryan Fontenot, camp pastor for Weeks 3 and 4.

He urged campers to repent of sin and “rebel to action. What are you doing for the Lord? You have the most energy you’ll ever have in your life right now.”

Fontenot also challenged campers to share Christ with their friends and family.

“God has given each of you a realm of influence,” he said.

This year’s Super Summer offering totaled $16,511.51. It will be used to help pay for the gym floor in the new multipurpose building at WCC.

“Students will be using that floor for many, many years because of your gifts this week.” That is what Greg Savage, a member of the KNCSB Youth Evangelism (Y.E.S.) staff said during Week 3.

“Giving is an act of worship,” he reminded.

Kansas-Nebraska Southern Baptists are urged to pray that campers will live the decisions they made at camp.
