The Thought Occurred To Me

Last time we talked about the importance of sharing the Gospel with a lost world. After folks come to faith in Christ, there is a need to get them into communities of faith or churches.

Remember, our task as a state convention is help churches make disciples of all people groups. I think that means sharing our faith, starting new churches/ministries, strengthening churches and believers and sending Christ followers into the world to be salt and light to a lost and dying world.

Starting new church type expressions as well as externally focused ministries is the next component for helping churches make disciples.

In KNCSB, we have focused on “Places of Light”, as a tool for starting a new evangelistic outreach ministries designed to reach those who are not yet Christ followers.
Our church planting team is focused on working with associations to identify unreached people groups throughout our two states.
A couple of examples that I would share with you are the Karen people group in Omaha and a Somali people group in Lexington, Ne. In both Omaha and Lexington, literally thousands of people are represented by just these two groups.

We must share with them the Good News of Christ and provide for them a place of community or church. There are also many Anglo groups in both states that need our attention. Currently we have population segments, which are not being reached with the Gospel.  Remember, starting means beginning evangelistic outreaches such as “Place of Light” designed to reach those that are not yet Christ followers, as well as beginning new churches designed to reach unreached people groups.  My prayer is that these new “Places of Light” and churches will become transformational communties of faith.

My challenge to you is to go start something for the cause of Christ!
