VBS Big Success At First Baptist Church, Valentine, NE

August 2008

Outrigger Island Vacation Bible School made a big splash at First Baptist Church, Valentine, Neb., with eight professions of faith.

High-attendance day attracted 93 Wave Riders and 23 Adult Guides, making it a 115 total day.

Average attendance for the five days was 81 Wave Riders and 23 Adult Guides.

The youth were given a challenge to have 25 in attendance and the pastor, two youth leaders and a deacon would do the hula in grass skirts.

They did it! Actually, the youth went over the goal and had 27 in attendance on Thursday. So the leaders did an unforgettable rendition of the hula accompanied by music from Hawaii Five-O.

The missions class gave the challenge to raise $80 for a case of Bibles for the Oregon Trail Baptist Association party wagon. Wave Riders gave a total of $114.53 came for Bibles. Wow! Because they made the goal, every Wave Rider got a soda pop on the last day.
It was a fantastic VBS. Every goal was met and exceeded. Praise the Lord!
