WCC Update
December 2011
1. User Days and Revenues continue to set record highs in 2011. While many conference centers are being sold due to low user rates, God continues to bless WCC with record highs in attendees and revenues. Through October, User Days were at 40,482 (up 629 User Days) which also increased the revenue from User Fees by $23,145.10 over the previous record level for this same date in 2010.
2. Three new WCC Board Members were elected at the 2011 KNCSB Annual Meeting last month:
a. J.L. Schmidt from Lincoln, NE representing Eastern Nebraska Baptist Association
b. Joyce Huffman from Burwell, NE representing Sandhills Association
c. Eric Franklin from Salina, KS representing Smoky Hills Baptist Association
3. New WCC Officers were elected at the WCC Annual Meeting on October 7, 2011:
a. President: Kerry Wolfington from Lawrence, KS (Kaw Valley Association)
b. Vice President: Jerry Smith from Andover, KS (Heart of Kansas Baptist Associaton)
c. Secretary: Kenny Kelly from Wellington, KS (South Central Baptist Association)
4. WCC has been selected as the site for the 2012 KNCSB Annual Meeting. The dates for the meeting will be October 15-16, 2012. Keep watching in the days ahead for more details on how you can take advantage of some excellent housing accommodation rates for the Annual Meeting.
5. The 2011 Matching Challenge Grant has almost been reached. At the time of this writing, around $47,000 had been given toward the challenge goal of $50,000. Since this money is being matched dollar for dollar as soon as it is received, work has already begun to renovate the original Chapel at WCC with new paint, windows, carpet and chairs. The lighting and audio visual system is also being upgraded to better serve the needs of those using the facility. It is hoped that the final $3,000 will be received very soon to enable the staff as they continue to renovate the Chapel. Thank you for your generosity!
